Job Position: Cyber Security Officer (Assistant Registrar II)

About The Council

Following the enactment of the West African Examinations Council Ordinances in 1951 by the governments of Ghana (then known as the Gold Coast), Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia, the West African Examinations Council was founded in 1952 as a non-profit organisation with its headquarters located in Accra, Ghana. In 1974, Liberia was admitted as the fifth member of the Council. The Jeffrey Report, which firmly backed the idea of creating a regional examining board to harmonise and standardise pre-university evaluation processes across what was then British West Africa, served as the foundation for the Ordinances’ passage.

Tasks:

  • Perform penetration tests or working directly with penetration testers to assess potential security problems
  • Develop organization-wide security measures
  • Document known security breaches and vulnerabilities
  • Keep users informed by preparing performance reports; communicating system status
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest information technology (IT)and cybersecurity developments

 Credentials:

  • Possess a minimum of First Degree in Computer Science or allied disciplines from a recognized University ( at least Second-Class Lower Division)
  • A Master’s Degree in Digital Forensics and Cyber Security will be an added advantage.
  • Have at least three (3) years of hands-on practical experience.
  • All applicants must not be more than forty (40) years of age, except applicants for the position of Senior Stores Officer II, who should not be more than 45 years of age at the close of the advertisement for the position.

  • All applicants must possess a minimum of SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/GCE “O” Level Examination Certificate or their equivalents with credits in five subjects including English Language and Mathematics, at ONE (1) sitting, or SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/GCE “O” Level Examination Certificate with credits in six subjects, including English Language and mathematics, at not more than TWO sittings.
