kulturweit-Incoming: An Invitation to Explore and Engage
The German Commission for UNESCO extends an invitation to the youth of Cameroon, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Togo for an immersive experience. Seize the opportunity to spend three transformative months – from the end of February to the conclusion of May 2024 – in Germany. This unique endeavor encapsulates culture, nature, education, and sport. Participants will become integral parts of UNESCO project schools, biosphere reserves, world heritage sites, theaters, museums, foundations, cultural and sports clubs, universities, and Goethe Institutes. The realization of this project is contingent upon donor funding. Throughout their tenure, participants will actively contribute to their assigned locations, collaborating in event organization, public relations, or executing projects alongside children and young individuals.
Meet the Eligibility Criteria
Eligible participants encompass individuals who:
- Are of legal age within their respective home country during the internship (18 years or older)
- Reside within one of the following countries: Cameroon, Kenya, Namibia, Rwanda, Tanzania, or Togo
- Possess a commendable command of the German language (minimum language proficiency level B1, as per the Common European Framework of Reference)
- Enjoy sound health for the duration of the overseas sojourn
- Hold a valid passport to facilitate Schengen visa application
- Aspire to contribute to cultural, natural, educational, or sporting domains through volunteering
The Path to Selection
The meticulous selection process is overseen by the kulturweit team of the German UNESCO Commission. In a span of four to six weeks, a preliminary selection transpires. Following this initial phase, applicants receive notifications outlining the progression of their applications. During this juncture, both negative and encouraging interim decisions are communicated. Positive outcomes from this phase of selection propel candidates into the subsequent stage.
